Short Circuit: 10 Days

This 11-day/10-night circuit will take you from the Amazonia-like, wildlife rich canals of the Caribbean Sea to the white-sanded, tropical beaches, of the Guanacaste golden Pacific Coast, TOC shows you the experience of live volcanoes, misty, cloud forests and the bustle of the Central Valley.

A journey of contrasts that showcases the best of Costa Rica, its biodiversity, and its spectacular landscapes. After a night in San Jose, the capital city of Costa Rica, your journey down onto the Caribbean lowlands will be through the lush, tropical rainforest that embrace the mountains slopes and then onto Tortuguero, the land of the water canals.  (1 night).

Tortuguero sits on the mid-northern Caribbean Sea and is a series of serpent-like canals that wind through the dense rainforest before reaching the wild, open sea. The opportunity to observe wildlife galore including basking caimans, sleepy sloths, cheeky monkeys, birds, and turtles.  An immersion in nature at its best.  (2 nights).

Arenal is renowned for being the adventure capital of the world!  It´s sleepy Arenal Volcano is your constant companion as you engage in a number of adventure activities that will show you new perspectives of the rainforest. The adrenaline of ziplining through its canopy, hiking on its floor, rafting down its rivers or walking through its hanging bridges contrast the relaxing, medicinal thermal springs, a gift from our iconic volcano.  Adventure in nature like no other. (2 nights).

Up onto the top of the mountain to Monteverde, one of the few lasting cloud forests in the world.  This sustainable, eco-friendly destination invites you to experience the magic of the forest that is embraced by mist and that is home to a diversity of wildlife, especially endemic and migratory birds. (1 night).

To the north pacific we go to enjoy the volcanic mountains and the tropical beaches that dot its coast.  The slopes of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano guarantee a day of adventure while enjoying the tropical dry forest.  A thrill-seekers paradise of ziplining, rappelling, canyons, horseback riding, tubing down rivers and volcanic mud baths and thermal springs to enjoy in nature.  (1 night).

From the thrill of the rush to relaxing on a tropical beach on Costa Rica´s premier north Pacific Ocean coastline.  Guanacaste has the best beaches to enjoy the blue skies and the inviting turquoise waters.   It´s sunsets light up the sky with citrus-orange hues to welcome the balmy nights in paradise. (2 nights).

As our journey comes to an end, we return to the nation´s capital in preparation for tomorrow´s departure. Enjoy the city vibe surrounded by the majestic coffee-covered mountains as you bid farewell to Costa Rica. We hope to see you again soon!
